I am a Public (Sworn)Translator of English-Spanish-English. I studied at the University of the Republic of Uruguay (4 year-course), located in Montevideo, Uruguay.
Member of the Public Translators Association (CTPU by its acronym in Spanish).
Public Translators in Uruguay are the only professionals in charge of translating texts and documents from the national language into the foreign language and vice versa.
In Uruguay, any document written in English is required by law, to be translated by a certified Public Translator, to be processed and be legally valid.
As such, I am entitled to translate Civil status certificates (school transcripts, birth, marriage and death certificates, ID documents, etc) as well as Corporate documents, contracts, Powers of Attorney, patents, law suits, wills and probate.
Moreover, I have experience and attended several courses and workshops on medical and scientific translation.
Since 2007 I have been working as a virtual training facilitator in an American travel network company, being an expert on travel and tourism terminology. I also work as work as a technical writer and translator in this company.
As a native, I have an excellent command of the grammar, constructions, and syntax of the Spanish language. Strong grasp of idioms, colloquialisms, culture, society, and political environment in Spanish speaking countries. .
